You can block the ads in Mobile Safari using a special hosts file. Firstly you need a jailbroken iPhone, and iPhone browser (available here). Ads are a good model for publishers, but its a headache for users. If you are one of those who wants to get rid of ads, this is perhaps for you. But then, do remember, the entire free internet concept works on Ads. Relevant ads.
- SSH in to the iPhone (Open the iPhone file system using iPhone Browser)
- Goto /etc/ folder
- Copy & Replace the /etc/hosts file from this archive
- Turn off and Turn on the iPhone or Reboot it
There you go, Ad-free on the iPhone!
